A.    What is Forensic Accounting?

Forensic is defined by Black's Legal Dictionary as "used in or suitable to courts of law or public debate." Forensic accounting is the application of financial and accounting concepts in a manner useful to Courts or the public.

B.     What hours are you available?

We are available during normal business hours, which are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

C.    How much and what kind of preparation do you need for my tax return?

We prefer that your materials be in a computer accounting program, but we have taken materials in almost every imaginable form. Contact us with questions about specific software packages.

D.    What role do you play if the IRS audits my tax return?

We will assist you with an audit at our regular hourly charges.

E.     Do you offer regular accounting and audit services?

Yes.

F.     Can you work jointly for a divorcing couple?

Yes, we have extensive experience working jointly for the Court, in mediation, as well as working for one party.

G.    What is involved in hiring your firm for litigation engagements?

A partner will discuss with the client and/ or attorney their requirements and if there are no obvious conflicts of interest, prepare a written agreement setting forth the terms of the assignment.

H.    Do you quote a fixed fee for Litigation assignments?

No. Many Litigation assignments evolve over time and it is not possible to estimate the fees.

I.      How do you bill for your services?

Our standard billing procedure is to bill monthly for all time expended on clients' projects. We require payment upon receipt. Credit cards are not accepted.

In litigation cases we require a deposit prior to acceptance of the engagement. This deposit will be held to pay the final billings at the end of the case. This deposit will not be applied to monthly billings. Clients will be billed monthly for work completed and are expected to pay the current balance each month, regardless of the balance in the deposit account.

J.     Will I be billed for an initial consultation?

Yes, but we do not bill for the initial brief telephone call to discuss our qualifications.
